Not Sure If Your CV Is Good Enough?

If you're still confused about how to create a CV for your Swiss job applications, you can use the Europass CV template as a starting point.

One of the advantages of Europass is that it allows you to provide more detailed information about your previous employers and educational background, making it easier for employers to understand your experience and qualifications.

A Few CV Tips

📸 Use a professional photo

If you choose to include a photo, make sure it looks professional and appropriate for a job application.

📄 Keep it concise

Try to keep your CV to one page if possible. However, if you have extensive and relevant work experience, it's completely fine to have a CV of up to two pages.

🇩🇪 Consider writing your CV in German

If you're applying for jobs in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, we recommend preparing your CV in German whenever possible. An English CV can still work, especially if the job advertisement is in English, but a German CV can make your application more relevant to local employers.

Not confident in your German yet? You can use an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Gemini to help translate your CV from English into German. Just make sure to review the translation and adjust any job titles or industry-specific terms so they accurately reflect your real experience.

💼 Be honest and accurate

Everything you include in your CV should be based on your real experience and qualifications. Make sure your work experience can be supported by an employment certificate or reference letter from your previous employer.

This is especially important when applying for jobs abroad. Don't add responsibilities, positions, or experience that you cannot prove.

Remember: Your CV should make it easy for the employer to understand who you are, what you have done, and why your experience is relevant to the position you're applying for.
