The Swiss YPV — Real, But Easy to Get Wrong

Most non-European applicants face challenges due to unclear requirements, incomplete documentation, lack of awareness about hiring periods, and misunderstandings about language requirements that are not actually part of the visa process. Even a small mistake can result in significant delays or rejection.

This webinar is based on real experience, guiding you through the exact steps that lead to approval — tailored for applicants from eligible non-European countries.

What is the Young Professional Visa?

The Young Professional Visa (YPV) Switzerland is a government-supported trainee exchange program that allows young professionals from selected non-European countries to gain relevant work experience in Switzerland through a simplified work permit process. It is designed for professional development rather than general employment, meaning applicants must have a job offer related to their field of study. Unlike standard work permits, the process is more accessible due to bilateral agreements between Switzerland and certain countries, and it is not strictly dependent on the local labor market situation.

This is general information for educational purposes. Always verify current requirements with the Swiss embassy or State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) before applying.

Eligible Countries

The Young Professional Visa is available to citizens of these 15 countries through bilateral agreements with Switzerland:

Argentina
Australia
Canada
Chile
Indonesia
Japan
Monaco
New Zealand
Philippines
Russia
San Marino
South Africa
Tunisia
Ukraine
USA

Special age limits apply for Australia (20–30), New Zealand (18–30), and Russia (18–30). All others: 18–35.
